Today we will get to know Jens, he works as a System Developer at BazePort, and has been with us for five years now.
Hi, Jens, how is your Friday so far?
Great, finally we have some sun after a long winter. Looking forward to the weekend!
Tell us a bit about yourself, where do you come from and what is your background?
I’m a Computer Engineer from Sweden, East Coast, South of Stockholm. I moved to Norway roughly five years ago, and I really like it here. Other than computers, I enjoy working out, spending time with my family and playing video games. I started University in my late twenties, which means I had time to try a few different jobs before starting to work as a Developer. For example I used to work as a Taxi driver, in recycling and more. I must say I prefer working in an office!
As a System Developer I´m sure you have many interesting tasks, what do you like the most?
I love working on improving our products' stability and fixing bugs that help enhance our customers' experience. Plus, working in a small team like ours gives me the chance to try out a variety of things and work on different projects. It's never a dull day at BazePort!
Any good tips for aspiring young Developers out there?
Computer engineering and development is a huge field, you can’t learn everything. Focus on your strengths and work on getting better at what interests you. You’ll see that deeper knowledge in one area makes learning other areas easier later on.
